Lyrica Precautions.

When you go for a dental procedure, inform the dentist that you are taking Pregabalin, for some dental anesthetics together with Lyrica can increase drowsiness.
This medicine may cause some patients to become irritable, agitated or behave in an abnormal manner; others may feel depressed or have suicidal ideation. Patients, or their caregivers, should immediately inform the doctor about these side effects.
People who drive, or perform difficult tasks, should refrain from performing such activities, until they know how the medicine affects them and are sure they can handle its effects. Older people who take this medicine, or their caregivers, should also be more careful if they take this medicine because of its likelihood to increase drowsiness.
If you have a fever that is accompanied by a muscular pain/tenderness, or weakness, inform your doctor at once.
If diabetic patients notice any sores, or any other skin changes, they should immediately contact their doctor.
Pregnant or lactating women, or those planning to have a baby, must consult their doctor before taking this medicine.
It is recommended that men ? who are contemplating fatherhood and need to take this medicine ? should use a condom, and also talk to their doctor, as birth defects have been noticed in the children of male animals who were put on Lyrica therapy.
It is recommended that every time you get a refill, you or your caregiver must read the instructions carefully.
In case you experience dryness in the mouth, frequently sipping water, or ice chips could help to reduce the dryness.
The safety and efficacy of this medicine has not been tested for pediatrics and geriatrics; the doctor will give this medicine to such patients only if the benefits outweigh the risks.
Epileptic patients should always carry their medical identification ? card, or bracelet ? indicating their condition and the medicines being used by them, so that in case of any emergency, the doctor/dentist/surgeon knows that the patient is taking this anti-seizure medication.
